How to remove marks from a screen fabric

Before you attempt to clean a screen surface, you need to realize that your chance of success may not be too good. Quite often, once the fabric is written on or otherwise soiled, it will have to be replaced. On many surfaces, cleaning should not be attempted at all. For example, if you attempt to clean a glass beaded screen, the small beads will come off, leaving a dark spot in your projected images. The coatings of rear screens can also rub or peel off with cleaning. Even cleanable surfaces must be cleaned using only light pressure and mild soap and water. Use of any type of chemical cleaner will destroy their reflective properties and the result will be worse than the marks.
