Digital-ready already?

Digital-ready televisions

Digital ready TVs are more prepared for DTV signals, but not by that much. They are not as good as true Digital TVs.

You might be surprised to learn that digital television technology has already arrived. Some TV sets sold today are "digital-ready". They have component video inputs for digital-to-analog signals, such as DVDs, camcorders, and Digital Broadcast System (DBS) satellite services. These sets let you enjoy the advantages of clearer, sharper pictures. When DTV arrives, you can add a down-converter box to view the programming on your analog TV. But, you will not have the full performance benefits of a DTV receiver.
