UVU - Seminar Descriptions
Each seminar is designed to enable architects, facility managers and general contractors to plan for the introduction of audiovisual systems into commercial environments by exploring the infrastructure, video & data display
and audio systems.
Planning Electrical and Infrastructure Requirements for AV
Architects will be given the tools to plan for the infrastructure requirements of an
AV system. Specific topics include a thorough look at lighting, system cabling, equipment rack
requirements, and a variety of electrical issues. Finally, this seminar will explore how a
relationship and continued communication with an AV systems integrator can benefit the architect
in all phases of the design process.
Understanding the AV Projection and Display Environment
Architects will gain an understanding of the AV projection and display environment.
Specific topics include a detailed look at screen types and placement, requirements surrounding
front and rear screen projection systems, and an overview of plasma displays. Finally, this
seminar will explore how a relationship and continued communication with an AV systems integrator
can benefit the architect in all phases of the design process.
Understanding Audio and Acoustics in AV Presentation Systems
Architects will gain an understanding of the audio and acoustical issues that relate
to the architectural design of environments that will contain AV presentation systems. Specific
topics include a comprehensive look at speaker requirements, microphones types and their placement,
and various topics surrounding acoustics. Finally, this seminar will explore how a relationship
and continued communication with an AV systems integrator can benefit the architect in all phases
of the design process.
