Shipping
Information
Please adhere to
the following guidelines when shipping any equipment to United Visual
for repair. We cannot be responsible for items damaged in transit.
Consider using a local packaging service. It may cost a few extra dollars, but it
is usually the safest method.
If you choose to package the unit yourself, contact UPS,
FedEx or your
carrier of choice to obtain the proper packing requirements for the
equipment you need to ship. Generally, you should have 3 inches of
packing material on ALL sides of the item. Only use approved packing
materials like Styrofoam or similar pellets. Always enclose
the unit in a plastic bag to prevent packing materials from getting
inside the piece of equipment. Use a sturdy corrugated cardboard
box, new if possible. Double boxing the unit never hurts. Be sure
to declare a value if the item is worth more than $100 so it will
be properly insured against damage. This will add slightly to the
shipping cost, but is well worth it.
Include the following in the package.
- Your name and
shipping address. We can not ship to a P.O. Box
- Daytime phone
number.
- A detailed
description of the problem & copies of any e-mail correspondence
regarding the item.
- If under warranty,
you must provide a copy of dated sales receipt
as proof with shipment, otherwise customary charges
will be apply.
Note: If proof of warranty is provided after work
is completed, customer will be responsible for all labor costs incurred
for items excluded from the manufacturer's warranty - such as cleaning,
lubrication and other preventive maintenance.
- Indicate if
you require an "Estimate" before work is performed. (There
is a charge for all estimates and it will extend completion time)
- Indicate what
shipping method to use for returning your unit. (Return shipping
charges will be added to repair invoice)
Note: No phone call for authorization is necessary.
